FR JOBY KACHAPPILLY READING THE MIND OF OTHERS FR JOBY KACHAPPILLY  http://www.frjobypreachings.com/ The journey to Golgotha… The eyes of Jesus are moist and glistening with tears….Blood reeking of pain….Many did see the Nazarene’s bruises and lacerations. But hardly any read his heart; not many extended their helping hands towards him. As we contemplate the way of the cross, the fourth station, the fifth station and indeed some other stations are felt to be the pilgrimage spots of a different kind of spirituality. As he was inching forward from life to death, his mind was a cauldron of conflicting emotions. Veronica and Simeon, having understood the turbulence in his mind, endeavored to soothe his excruciating pain and agony. They open before us a new vista of spirituality in a world of insensitivity and callousness, devoid of sympathy and fellow-feeling. Read the thoughts in others’ hearts and act accordingly. FR JOBY KACHAPPILLY http://www.frjobypreachings.com/ THEY ARE GODS! FR.JOBY KACHAPPILLY “ We struggled day and night to make our children reach their present positions of power and prestige. But in our troubled old age of distresses and diseases, they don’t even come to have a look at me. When I think how callous and insensitive our children have become, my heart breaks with sorrow and pain. Often I wonder why I lived for so long. I do not want to continue living. I wish that death comes and takes me away to free me from this intolerable pain.” This is the letter that a mother wrote to Vachanotsavam requesting for prayer help. She was sharing with us her painful experiences. The letter looked like one written with the ink of her blood and tears depicting her excruciating agony caused by the utter neglect by her children, her own flesh and blood. How soon our children forget the things they studied at home and in the catechism classes that parents are visible gods?

Anything that a person keeps close to his heart dearer than God is dummy god. It means anything that has enslaved him. How true are the words of Hesse! In each person’s life there are some individuals, things, ideals, TV channels, serials and addictions that give him material comfort and pleasure. All these are evils that have found abode in his heart with or without being aware of it. They are actually the material gods or dummy gods. The real freedom is liberation from such things. The very first Commandment ‘Love God above all’ means we should
